C’est La Vie!

•May 25, 2012 • 5 Comments

Such is life.

There are ups,

And there are downs.

That’s the irony of it.

Regardless,

if we like it or not,

That’s a screaming fact!

But no matter what,

We have to make sure

That at the end of the day,

To guard our hearts tight at all times.

For there are countless of evils around

Meant to test our strength as a person;

Meant to test our faith in ourselves;

Meant to test even our faith in God.

And I am honestly at the very verge

of falling on a trap,

And this is why I decided to pause from here;

An indefinite pause really.

Because I need it so badly.

To all those who just followed me,

I am so sorry!

But in my blog you’ll see imprints of good people,

My blogger friends,

Who are all extremely wonderful souls.

They don’t just deserve your readerships,

But they can also make you a better individuals.

To conclude, please allow me accept the two awards,

That two of my dearest friends hailed and nominated me for.

The Commenter Award from KIM.

She is the amazing woman behind the beautiful blog,

the silentheardonce.

And my dear VIVEKA’s  myguiltypleasures.

The mechanics of those awards are below.

Happy blogging to you all!

🍀🌺🍀

For the Commenter Award:

Thank you KIM, I am very grateful for your nomination. And as I keep on saying, I appreciate your friendship more than you ever know. I am amazed the way you can write such beautiful poems behind the pain you are going through. But whatever it is; whatever evil that is, keep in mind that it didn’t came from GOD. It’s out there to change that beautiful person in you. So never let it achieve its agenda (and that is to harm and change your heart, and to weaken your faith),

The mechanics of the Commenter Award:

The Commenter Award is a little different from the most awards. Instead of awarding others for their blogs, you will be giving recognition to those who comment on yours. They are the ones that make your blog what it is. They are the ones that take their time to read and feel what you posts, and offer you the reward of their comments.

The nominations are the easiest part. You should nominate the six bloggers who comment frequently on your blog. How do you know who does this most often? This is a good question.

You will find your Top Recent Commenter’s on your site stats page on the bottom, right corner. If you do not see this, click on the Screen Options at the top, right corner and be sure that “comments” is checked. If you are good about responding to every comment, then you will be the first one in the list. The next six commenter’s, on the list will be the ones you nominate and pass this award onto. But wait! You may nominate one more person. This person can either be a brand new commenter on your blog, the very last comment you have received (most Recent), or the one who has posted your most favorite comments. This seventh nomination is your choice, but please do tell us why you have chosen them as your seventh.

And my nominees:
1. Viveka, for http://myguiltypleasures.wordpress.com
2. Jake, for http://poemsandponderings.wordpress.com
3. Cat, for http://catforsley.com
4. Terry, for http://terry1954.wordpress.com
5. Nonoy, for http://nonoymanga.wordpress.com
6. Shian, for http://shianwrites.wordpress.com

And my 7th nominee is no other than person who voted me, KIM. Thank you for everything!

🍀🌺🍀

And for the. ABC Award that Viveka, or myguiltypleasures nominated me, below are the mechanics:

The ABC of my thoughts:

A >>> Arrogant-Please don’t be one. For if you do, one day, that same arrogance will boomerang to you.

B >>> Be bold and daring when you write. Always give justice to your, or should I say our passion, to write. So you may write fearlessly.

C >>> Cherish each day that you wake up for another morning; for each day is a gift from Up Above.

D >>> Don’t hold grudges with anyone. And don’t be a captive of hate. For it can make you the ugliest person in the world.

E >>> Endear this passion to your hearts; the passion to blog, to write, and be an ambassador of goodwill. Because in doing such, you’d be the silent heroes of world peace. And it is not a hallucination, but the greatest dream of all.

F >>> Friends-They are the angels that God sent your way. Because HE wants to make sure that in low moments of your life; in your darkest hours, those angels will comfort and keep you strong.

G >>> Goodwill. Be kind to one another. For if you do, Heaven has its way to return your kindness in hundred folds.

H >>> Hugs. We all need it, to keep ourselves warm. And in blogging, the kind of hug that we have here is to comment and compliment our fellows’ great works.

I >>> I am God’s humble servant.

J >>> Jubilate for our fellows’ triumphs. Say NO to evnvy at all times!

K >>> Kindness kills; it kills all evils.

L >>> Love is the most beautiful gift from up above. For in love we were born, in love we were raised, and only in love we will be remembered best.

M >>> Meekness. A synonym of kindness. Pass it on!

N >>> Never give up your dreams. Have faith! For all you know, that’s all it is waiting for.

O >>> Only God can love unconditionally. So don’t be silly to look for a perfect love or perfect relationship. For we all have flaws.

P >>> Please-learn how to say it at all times. For it triggers kindness.

Q >>> Queen. Leave her to London. Never feel and act like one. We are all equal in the eyes of the LORD.

R >>>  Richness-Build your richness in Heaven. For over there, there is no robber to steal it from you.

S >>> Solace. Find and stick to someone who can give you solace. And not pain, neither humiliation. Because we all deserve to be loved, cared and be cherished.

T >>> Truth will always set you free. So be true to yourself. For you can fool the world, but not yourselves.

U >>> Unique- We are all unique and possess goodness that make us distinctive to one another.

V >>> Violence. Crusade against it! And in our virtual world, the worst is not pornography, but cyber bulling. I think I was once a victim. And it happened here.

W >>> Wish- I wish you all the best, all the love, and peace; peace at home; peace in your blog life; in your heart, and in your soul.

X >>> X. Dare to mark X to all vexations of the spirit. They aren’t worth it! Your hearts certainly don’t deserve craps!

Y >>> You are God’s most beautiful creations So love yourselves!

Z >>> Zzzzzzzzzzzzz  It’s 2:50 in the morning, Hawaii Standard Time; way past my bed time. So I must GTS (got to sleep) already! So goodnight to you all!

Thank you Kim and Viveka ! I love you both!

Au revoir!

And GOD bless everybody!

Smile

Smile should come from the heart,

And not from anywhere else.

We should smile

To give thanks for each day we live

Each minute we breathe,

Each friend we have on our side,

Each loved one we are blessed with,

Even for the not so good ones

To smile about,

We should smile for all of it.

To feel it,

And to cause the grin,

You have to close your eyes,

And search within.

And from there you’ll feel,

That no matter how bad it is;

No matter how rough it could be,

If you just smile,

The world will smile on you too.

And just as the old song goes,

“Life is still worthwhile,

If you just smile.”

But wait now, I can’t just let you go with a smile😊 I want a big one or a chuckle😄 So let’s go check these out!

Oh uh! 😷 Oh no, 😄 she did it!

20120524-192800.jpg

Now, I’m having second thought of keeping this passion. I don’t wanna end up like him😳

20120524-192917.jpg

See? Blogging and drinking, isn’t a good idea.👎👎👎

20120524-192946.jpg

To do this for a living? No can! I can’t imagine. 😱just to have it as a passion will do.

20120524-193016.jpg

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

To the lovely Ms. Lenise Lee, thank you for the nomination.

http://iamleniselee.wordpress.com/2012/05/24/cheers-my-first-blogger-nomination/

As a requirement, I have to state seven things about me:

Now, I hate this part. I had to choose 15 Bloggers. I just got done with 10 (with the Beautiful Blogger Award). And I honestly did it with a grieving heart, because I want everybody to get all this award really, it was just that, I was limited to 10. At any rate, DRUM ROLL please. . .

Here are my nominees:

Wait now, I am not done yet, yes I reached 15 already, but didn’t you notice, there’s no NO.1?

Of course that No.1 is no other than the person who nominated me, Ms. Lenise Lee, her site: http://iamleniselee.wordpress.com. I love Lenise’ love stories, and her photographs too. Sometimes I just browse on her stories and daydream all day. Thank you Lenise, for the faith, the friendship, the readership, for the nomination, I so thank you!

Oh man, I just did it! This is the 2nd award I claimed today. The hardest part is choosing, because I really have a lot in my list. Although, I can’t name you all, allow me to reiterate: I know everyone is so passionate about keeping our blogs, and writing, but if you don’t get one of these awards, it doesn’t mean you are not doing good at all, or nobody likes you. For as long as we are giving our hearts to anything we do, we should never really worry about the rest. Leave it to HIM! For only GOD could take care of all the rest. HE sees us all, and knows our hearts desires! He knows us to the deepest core of our hearts! So good luck to all! And may God bless everybody!

5. Notify those bloggers that they have been nominated and of the award’s requirements.

On Receiving Awards and Nominations

•May 24, 2012 • 12 Comments

I WANT TO NAME YOU ALL!

Probably, the hardest part in accepting those blogger awards is we get to choose as to whom we could pass the awards to. With that two awards I recently received: first, was Beautiful Blogger Award. Followed by, The Very Inspiring Award, I honestly want to name and nominate you all. And this is not to pull anyone’s legs, or to make anyone follow me, HELL NO! It is not my cup!

I want to name all of you, because we all deserve all those awards. As I said yesterday, I can see everyone’s passion in keeping our blogs, in writing, posting, and maintaining our sites. I know how painstaking the job is, in keeping our sites. I can honestly feel, that just like me, your respective blogs mean so much to all of you too. And that is why I want everybody; I want all of us to get those awards.

I did felt bad choosing just ten, and then fifteen. So I hope the creators of those awards won’t limit as to how many we can nominate. I know it’ll be a lot of work. But if we do want to promote something, we’ll go the “extra mile” (My friend, Viveka’s line) to reach out to others. For in my heart, I know everyone of us deserves those awards.

Even the ones, who find me cheesy; they do deserve it too. I am not bitter to anybody, not even to someone, who just caused me so much pain and humiliation. We can’t keep grudges in our hearts. It’s not going to do us any good. I know how hard it is for some of you to believe that I am for real. That I talk about goodwill; I talk about humility; I talk about aloha. But that’s what’s in my heart. I can’t just write something or anything, as I write straight from my heart! For without it, I can’t write at all! I am promoting kindness, not to gain readership. That is the kind of environment that we have here in Hawaii. And for you to understand me, I suggest you come over here. Maybe then you’d understand why I talk like this; maybe then you’d know what aloha is.

I honestly don’t care if anyone would read and like my post. As I own my blog. I am doing this for a passion, and not for a living. I would do appreciate it a lot If you like it, and I thank you for it. But if you don’t , I’m sorry. And I can’t do anything further to change how you feel for me and about my blog. Because what you see in here is me, and my heart. And that’s all I could offer you.

Nonetheless, I believe, there is still goodness in this world. And for some of you who don’t believe that they still exist, I will always be praying that you’ll get enlightened at some point.

Let’s keep our atmosphere friendly. Because you know what? Most of us here, has an emptiness inside that only our respective blogs can fill. So let’s make our blogging worthwhile. Let’s be in harmony!

If you find it hard to get along with anybody, just be civil at least!

The Beautiful Blogger Award

•May 24, 2012 • 11 Comments

http://silentlyheardonce.wordpress.com/2012/05/24/beautiful-blogger-award/

I received a nomination for the BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD from my good friend, Kim, the amazing woman behind the blog silentheardonce. But before I go anything further, allow me to take this opportunity to thank those people who nominated me in the past, and I never had the chance to accept those various awards because of my tight schedule in school and at work. I didn’t had the chance to accept, not because I don’t have faith on it, or I was being jerk or something, it was just that honestly, I was super duper busy because of the tax season here in the United States (as I prepare taxes on the side for the Legal Aid and the IRS, for a yearly community work I have devoted myself into), and working on my degree. For all those friends who did nominated me in the past, I AM REALLY SO SORRY and I THANK YOU FOR THE FAITH and PATIENCE.

And here are my nominees (drum roll please 😊)

1. Zahir- I owe this man a lot. And for me, he is the Mr. Congeniality here. He writes lovely poems. His site is: http://justsimplyinlove.wordpress.com.

2. Dolly- And so with this lady, who nominated me for so many times. I am sure you all know her, Ms. AllAboutLemon, lovely poems, music, arts, name it all, she has them all! Her site: http://allaboutlemon.com.

3. Dainty Damsel- And this young lady too. Just like the first two, this young passionate poet, have nominated me for tons of time. Dainty Damsel’s poems are so profoundly written. Her site: http://thedaintydamsel.wordpress.com.

4. Rayannsom- “Hungry Heart, Thirsty Mind,” just this slogan alone kills me. She nominated me for this same award. Her blog is as versatile as her; she journals, and write good contents. Her site: http://rayannsom.wordpress.com.

5. Viveka- I love this woman a lot, and more than I could ever say it. She is not just a world-class chef, but a world-class photographer too. She writes good reviews of movies, and share her sumptuous recipes. More than anything else, I love her sense of humor and her sincerity. Viveka’s site: http://mygulitypleasures.wordpress.com.

6. Mags- The amazing woman behind Mags2x; My good friend from Australia always writes good stuff, not just about her beautiful country, but about history and archaeology too. Plus, there is always a dash of comedy in all her posts. Mags’ site: http://magsx2.wordpress.com/

7. Jake- My good friend from Massachusetts (I was hoping he’s from Alaska, so I can personally see him because it’s so close to Hawaii. And we can just jump and eat crab legs. But unfortunately, he isn’t from a neighboring state, plus he is allergic to crabs. So no dinner for us!) Jake writes riveting poems, mind you RIVETING poems; meaning you better have a healthy heart before reading his poetry. Because they are all strong and deeply, profoundly written. Jake’s site: http://poemsandponderings.wordpress.com.

Hey, Kim, you told me 6 or 7, but I am sorry I have a long list here. Please let me finish. You see, I haven’t done this before, you now know the reason why, huh? I simply can’t stop myself now. Let’s keep going, and forget about the 6 or 7 (It’s fun to break some rules sometime 😊So let’s do it😃)!

8. Cat Forsley- Pretty, witty sweet, that’s my friend, Ms. Cat Forsley. She is an amazing songwriter and poet. Blessed with the looks and the heart, she writes so beautifully! And Cat’s website:
http://catforsley.me.

9. Genie- Ms. Palestine Rose, is the wonderful lady behind breath taking photos and beautiful poems at http://palestinerose.wordpress.com. Check her site out, and you’ll really get amazed of her writing and pictures as well.

10. Andy Chih- He honestly nominated me for quite a number of times, and I had to beg for him to revise his list to take my name out. He writes beautiful quotes, take beautiful pictures. And just like Zahir, Andy is one Mr. Congeniality. His site: http://dragoneystory.wordpress.com.

This is probably the hardest thing I ever done in my blogging life. But I am doing this, not to get the award, but because KIM is such a dear friend, I can’t fail her. Plus, those people in the list, those friends, they all deserve the award, more than I honestly do. So please check their sites, because I tell you, you’d be a better person after following those amazing bloggers.

To Kim, I love you, and this is for you!

Feel the WordPress Experience!

•May 23, 2012 • 23 Comments

A repost.

I am truly impressed of how fellow bloggers here at WordPress work as a community. So when my writing teacher asked us to write an essay about a Web site that deserves greater attention, I chose to write something about WordPress.com.

The kind of bonding (social networking with emotions involved) that bloggers have here is something I never found in all other blogging sites.

I am blogging since 2006. And on that same year I permanently migrated here in the United States. I started blogging with the Associated Content (where I get paid writing, and which is now owned by Yahoo!). I also had two with Bloggers (owned by Google), Vox, Digg and Helium. But I gave them all up, including an offer from the Examiner, because I am very much contented here at WordPress.

I used to blog because I missed my news writing career that I left at home in the Philippines. But as I progressed over the years, I really came to enjoy blogging more than news writing. I came to like it even more when I joined WordPress in 2008, and that fondness grew into passion, as I find blogging a very fulfilling and liberating experience.

Right now, I am crazy in love with this site! And I am truly hats off to all fellas here! From the way everyone writes (so passionately); how all of you are so committed in maintaining your blogs; and how everyone is reciprocal of one another’s efforts, I am very proud of all of you. You are all indeed, the best ones in the planet! So thank you, and I wish everyone of us the best blogging and writing experience! Happy blogging to us all!

And below is my essay about our website; and our humble home in the World Wide Web, WordPress.com. My warmest aloha to all!

Feel the WordPress Experience!

Free Web site, free blog, free editing, what more can you ask for? And those are just a few of what WordPress.com currently offers its members. After its parent Web site’s (WordPress.org) incredible success, this blog-hosting site was created to accommodate more aspiring writers and bloggers. It deserves greater attention of all online stakeholders as it offers unique blogging, writing, and editing experience that no other blog sites can offer.

On its homepage, WordPress states:

We wanted to bring the WordPress experience to a larger audience. So we created WordPress.com, a hosted version of the open source package where you can start a blog in seconds without any technical knowledge. (1)

The site likewise offers latest news in politics, current events, show business, sports, and finance. It also has a wide array of poems and essays written by passionate writers. Along with those, are astounding photography of budding photographers.

Among the huge challenges that this site is facing is, first, the point that it is being compared to Google’s Bloggers; and last but not the least is, some find the contents at WordPress libelous.

In response to those arguments, it is a given fact that Blogger is more popular than WordPress (no big deal!), but it does not have the enhanced writing, editing, and security features that WordPress has. On the second argument, WordPress’ answer to this kind of allegation is plain and simple; “We promote freedom of speech.” (2)

I came to like WordPress.com a lot. I opened an account in 2008 and started writing for myself. I like it not only because it is free (although I got my premium account already), but it also has an editing software that help us (bloggers, writers) polish our entries (blogs or posts) and make suggestions on necessary corrections from errors in spelling and grammar, uses of passive verbs and clichés. Also, if there is wordiness on the manuscript, the WordPress editing software catches it all and offers appropriate suggestions. Those things are critical not just for neophytes, but to all writers in general.

Another feature of WordPress that is useful is its tag-generating ability that helps bloggers earn readerships through Internet searches.

Along with those technical advantages, bloggers at WordPress.com also enjoy the kind of social networking that the site offers. Members of this site work in close-knit, as they offer one another full support, encouragement, and even referrals. That is a big factor to consider, just as peer workshop is valuable in essay writing at school or in academia.

Bloggers at WordPress.com may not know each other personally, but amidst distance, amidst culture differences, amidst time differences, everybody works just like how one works in a community. And for that, I humbly bow my head to all.

Another commendable feature of this site is its secured connection, as it ensures worry-free blogging: free from spammers, pop-up advertisements, and members can even filter and moderate all comments and subscriptions of their followers.

The site stressed that “We use Akismet (the world’s best comment and trackback spam technology) that blocks spammers from leaving comments on blog” (2). An internal survey shows that one of the most-loved features by members is its “Tracking Stats,” where members can see how many people viewed or read their blogs. This feature can also tell where the readers are from; both country and continent information are also provided on the report displayed in the Tracking Stats. (3)

On graphics and layout, WordPress offers a wide array of themes and designs, absolutely free! Every month there is a new theme that is free to all members.

Along with the themes and designs, I also like the widgets that WordPress offers to us bloggers (because widgets make our blog sites more appealing and professional). I just love WordPress a lot!

And last but not the least, WordPress.com has android and iPad application soft wares, available to all apple and android users. With this development, members can bring their passion (to write and blog) wherever they go.

If you are still not convinced that this website deserves your greater attention, you might want to check out who are blogging at WordPress.com. The site hosts CNN’s Political Ticker, Dow Jones’ AllThingsD, the NFL, Time Inc, The Page People Magazine’s Style Watch. (4) It also has high-profiled bloggers on its list of members, like Mark Cuban, John Scalzi, and Joy Behar. (5)

As a big fan of writing and language, I am truly grateful that this website exists as it provides a free avenue for writers like me. WordPress’ enhanced features give me the confidence that I can write effectively.

Random Thoughts: Satisfaction

Anything that satisfies the body is temporal,
And could lead to something evil.
Anything that satisfies the soul is eternal,
And could lead to a common good.
