On Valentine’s Day: 10 Songs to Serenade Your Loved Ones
Can you imagine a world without love? Nasty, yeah isn’t it? Actually, I don’t even want to picture it on my mind really. For being a fan of life, and of love, that’s the least of all things that I would do. And with that being said, honestly, Valentine’s Day means more to me than my birthday. Why? Not only because I feel so blessed to have someone I love, but because I strongly believe that love is the most beautiful thing that we received from up above.
And to help those folks who are cramming today (in Valentine’s Day) to show their love and affections to their dearly beloveds, below are 10 love songs (along with my favorite lines from each of them) that you can either sing, or play, or both, to serenade your loved ones, not just on Valentine’s Day, but your whole life through.
My number 1, is Annie’s Song by John Denver.
“You fill up my senses like a night in the forest…”
My number 2, is All My Life by America (although the video below sung by Regine Velasquez-Alcasid)
“All my life, without a doubt I give you, all my life,
between each showers of the passing days, I will stay
with you…”
My number 3, is I Love You All The Way by Janie Frickie, and it’s a love song that hits the airwaves during the 70s.
“All this we’ve been together, everyday is a new adventure. Time is enough to last forever and a day. Our love was sometimes all we had, through good times and through bad, I loved you all the way…”
My number 4, is I Won’t Last the Day Without You by the Carpenters (the video is showing Ms. Sarah Geronimo singing the song)
“When there’s no getting over that rainbow, when my smallest dreams won’t come true, I can take all the madness the world has to give, but I won’t last the day without you…”
My number 5, is I Can’t Smile Without You sung by Mr. Barry Manilow.
“You came along, just like a song, and brightened my day…”
My number 6, is Here, There and Everywhere sung by the legendary Beattles.
“Here, making each day of the year, changing my life, with the wave of his hands, nobody can deny, that there is something there…”
My number 7, is Every Breath You Take, originally sung by the Police, but the video below is from one of my favorite bossa nova singer, Ms. Lisa Ono.
“Oh can’t you see, you belong to me, how my poor heart aches, with every step you take…”
My number 8, is Grow Old With You, a song featured in Wedding Singer (I love the song, as much as I love the movie, and actors too).
“I wanna make you smile, whenever your sad, carry you around when your arthritis is bad…”
My number 9, is I will by Beatles again.
“You know how much I love you, you know I always will, will I wait a lonely lifetime, if you want me to, I will…”
And my number 10, is Waiting In Vain, from the movie Serendipity (One of the romantic comedy movies that I never get tired of watching over and over again).
“From the very first time I rest my eyes on you, boy…”
It doesn’t have to be 14 songs to serenade and show how much you love the person. Actually, one is good enough, if the song is more than enough to speak of what you truly feel inside. And if that single song is really more than enough to say your lines; of saying the magic words “I LOVE YOU,” then you should be fine.
Bottom line, say it! And say it out loud! And if it’s me, I would probably be screaming from the top of my lungs, saying I LOVE YOU!!! And that I REALLY, REALLY DO! Just to reassure him of my love for him everyday, and as often as I can. For it’s not all the time that we will have the opportunity to say it to the ones we love. So, please, never deprive your heart of reality, hence, of what you truly feel inside.
At any rate, Happy Valentine’s Day to all! I hope I’d been a nice cupid to everybody, and I hope this blog could come handy, especially, to everybody who is so in love (JUST LIKE ME!).
Thank you for reading, and happy hearts’ day to all!
